An International Manufacturing company based in Kempton Park is looking for a Testing and Repair Supervisor to join their team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in electronics
• 10 years’ experience as a Technician
• 10 years’ experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks and software)
• 10 years’ experience in a Supervisory function
• Knowledge of company products
• Good computer skills (Microsoft package)

JOB PURPOSE

Implement and maintain production assembly and test equipment by directing and supervising the TSC in a manner which ensures the timely and effective repair, maintenance and enhancement of the TSC and production environment’s PC’s related peripheral and electronic equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Technical Service Centre uses correct software in specific manufacturing process.
• Evaluates and improve assembly processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors, soliciting observations from operators.
• Ensuring that that production is using the correct firm and software.
• Ensuring that all products in TSC has a work instruction.
• 85 % productivity to be achieved and weekly productivity reports are compiled and sent to management.
• Produce and maintain technical documents, test procedures and manufacturing documents.
• Identify the need for production test equipment, design it, build proto-type, approve via engineering department and manufacturing TE according to released test specifications (Design, develop and fabricate test fixtures, tooling or jigs).
• Responsible to implement and maintain a failure reporting, analysis and correction action system (FRACAS) for all existing company products.
• Compile figures of PCB's returned and PCB's repaired.
• Compile the recovery rate of all PCB's per Bin Code.
• Supplying data as required by management.
• Field product repairs and/or identifying underlying design issues of existing product through a data-analyzed root cause program.
• Identification, maintaining and resolving of production test and assembly equipment issues.
• Assist internal and external customer with technical queries.
• Assist procurement department to research and procure parts for test equipment.
• Supply after sales support on manufacturing products.
• Assist QC department in the technical aspects and operation of products in manufacturing.
• Liaising with engineers if problems cannot be resolved internally.
• Liaising with management with regards to production related issues.

Supervision
• Responsible for the performance and development of the Technical Service employees.
• Conduct bi-annual one-on-one review with all technical service employees to set goals and prioritize assignments for the team, monitor progress, build more effective communication, and to understand training and development needs;
• Coaching and guiding of all technical service employees.
• Lead change management initiatives that might include cost reduction or efficiency initiatives.

Skills

• Analytical skills – must be able to implement a system that compiles product repair history and provide monthly failure root cause and corrective recommendation reports.
• Systems knowledge – knowledge of how systems work together and functionality of systems upstream and downstream.
• Advanced knowledge of digital and analogue electronics and troubleshooting.
