MY client a leading ISP in Stellnbosch is recruiting

We are looking for a highly talented Automated Testing Engineer to join our Systems team based in Stellenbosch.
The Automated Testing Engineer needs to design and write programs that run automatic tests on new or existing software. The Test Engineer must use automation frameworks (standardised guidelines) to build these programs on and write test scripts that do the testing. The Test Engineer will need to use a testing tool such as Selenium (or similar).

The objective is for the to automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code/scripts. The focus should be on the test effort not testing coverage. ie, if one manual test case or manual test preparation process consumes a large percentage of test resources, then this manual process should be the first to be automated.


Key responsibilities
• Software testing
For any given test phase below, the objective of the Automated Testing Engineer is to effectively automate the testing effort where applicable, using the applicable frameworks such as record and playback as well as load/performance.
o Unit testing
? Individually and independently testing of a specific portion of the application for proper operation
o Function and systems testing
? Testing the code within the greater workflow or module as well as across various related parts of the system
o Acceptance testing
? Facilitating beta end-user testing outside of the development team for solution sign-off.
• Designing and writing test automation scripts
• Using test automation frameworks
• Investigating problems in software as a result of testing
• Working with Business Analysts, System Architects, and Software Developers to find solutions
• Documenting and communicating the testing outcomes to the team

Required Experience & Qualifications
• Experience using software testing tools, such as Selenium
• Relevant experience / IT qualification

• Understanding of relevant programming languages, such as PHP and Java
• Mathematical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Teamwork skills, because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
