Position: Tool Room Co-ordinator

Aim of the Position:

• The incumbent will lead and facilitate the development of press tooling and the manufacturing of all related process tooling & gauging on all new projects where the development of new products is required.
• The incumbent will further co-ordinate all the required resources, both on and off-site to effectively manage and co-ordinate the processes required to produce the required tooling and gauging spares for existing products. This includes close liaison with the appropriate suppliers and regular feedback to management.
• The incumbent will be responsible for the purchase of raw material required for new projects and spare tooling in line with agreed budgets.
• The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and execution of the press tool preventative maintenance schedule

Main Duties of Position:

1. Effective management and care of all toolroom resources including machinery & equipment, measuring equipment, cutting tools, documentation and human resources.
2. Prioritising of all tool room jobs and allocation of jobs to subordinates
3. Responsible for the development of press tooling, gauges and related fixtures for new products
4. Responsible for the co-ordination of activities to ensure that all process tooling is manufactured to drawing for new and existing products both in-house and externally.
5. Project Management with emphasis on timeous achievements of tasks and budget
6. Assisting with development of prototypes where necessary
7. Assist Process Engineers with project delivery within APQP requirements
8. Maintaining document control of tooling drawings and filing according to appropriate procedures
9. Implement and maintain all related procedures according to TS16949 requirements.
10. Maintain press tool preventative / maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Qualified Tool, Jig and Die Maker
• Minimum 10yrs + Press Tooling experience within the automotive industry
