Main Functions:

• Operate tour from start to finish as per company procedures
• Contribute to team’s target
• Emergency phone duty
• Ensure keep updated on products and itineraries of all agents within the company
• Ensure get to visit the preferred suppliers of agent working with and get to know the products
• Take responsibility for all aspects of tours
• Assist with handling of complaints by gathering feedback from suppliers, guides etc.
• Be on constant lookout for new venues and activities - advise the team and rest of office
• Assist Senior Tour Specialist with annual tour series costing
• Once-Off Project work
• Do various quotations where quotes checked by Senior Sales Specialist
• Use preferred suppliers where possible
• Communicate with agents
• Answer questions from agents
• Check and send out booking confirmations
• Make reservations/Find and suggest appropriate alternatives
• Assist Junior Reservations Consultant

Requirements:

• 2-3 years tour consulting experience
• Have good product knowledge and sound geographical knowledge of Southern Africa including Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland etc.
• Team work and enthusiasm to assist colleagues
• Energetic and have a passion for learning about travel
• Time Management: ability to prioritise, plan and meet deadlines
• Effective verbal and written communication – internally as well as externally
• Take initiative and ensure attention to detail
• Be professional and offer high service levels at all times
• Ability to handle pressure and volume - be able to multitask.
• Understanding and ability to use Google (Gmail, Drive, Sheets etc.)
• Understanding and ability to use Tourplan and Wetu
• Liaising with Contracting Department if any rates required
• Source activities, restaurants, etc. when needed
• Understand and be fully operational on Tourplan
