Position: Sales Administrator & Junior Consultant (Tourism)

Salary: R8 000 plus 15 working days leave per annum

Location: Cape Town

Minimum Requirements

Matric / equivalent ( Essential)
Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Travel
Interest in the safari industry
Strong administration and organizational skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Good communication skills, a service delivery mindset and a strong customer service focus
Must work well under pressure
Proactive mindset and can-do attitude
Ability to work independently as well as within a broader team setup
Energetic and eager to learn
Must be computer literate and able to use email / MS Word / MS Excel

Main duties will include, but are not limited to

Manage the full administrative function for the Direct Sales Department which includes:

Cross checking of confirmed bookings in the relevant booking systems – Res Request and Travel Logic
Reconfirmation of all bookings
Liaise with the finance team on invoice payments
Liaise with Safari & Camp Operations
Identify problems on a file and immediately notify the Sales Consultant
Any other administrative tasks as may from time to time be directed

Junior consulting responsibilities for the Direct Sales Department which includes:

Direct sales on behalf of company via the company website and direct booking platforms
Ensure that company properties are promoted and displayed as best and accurately as possible on all direct websites
Assist in managing the direct client database
Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth running of the administration process
Following and adhering to all sales procedures as set out in the operating manuals
Attending all training that is offered and proactively growing your knowledge of the company, our products (as well as that of 3rd Party suppliers) and the countries in which we operate
Use systems to their maximum potential and play an active role in helping to improve where possible
Always look for ways to support and assist the sales team and play an active role in increasing their performance
