Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of Grain a Trader – Oilseeds and Wheat.

Role Key Responsibilities
• Identifies grainmarketing opportunities both in the spot market as well as on a pre season basis, which incorporates supply and demand analysis and arbitration potential
• Develops professional relationships with a portfolio of agricultural customers (offtakers), by providing sound and proactive grain marketing strategies, taking into account customer needs, profitability, market information and risk
• Develops and utilises internal / external networks with specialised areas (Safex desk, agricultural advisors, and credit agricultural department and farmers associations) to engage support and effectively optimise the grain purchases by offtakers
• Responsible for the implementation of the grain marketing strategy and the facilitation of physical transactions in the pre season and spot grainmarket
• Collaborate with the Client’s grain marketers and other offtakers to streamline purchase and sales of grain
• Manage purchase premiums on mandated contracts from offtakers
• Responsible for grain price management by supervising bids(mandates) from offtakers and managing day to day marketing to achieve budgeted financial results
• Responsible for giving presentations / seminars to customers in order to retain or gain new business

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Applicable knowledge of the South African futures exchange (SAFEX)
• Applicably computer literate
• Applicable post-matric qualification and experience in managing similar businesses
• Sound knowledge of financial management principles, including budget, margin and cost management
