Job Title: Training Officer- Safety

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the application of the full training cycle for the Safety Discipline.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Train and assess Learners according to legal requirements and satisfy the NQF and MQA directives
Perform needs analysis, compile training material, conduct interventions and evaluate learner’s performance
ISO 9001: 2008 implementation and maintenance
Evaluate and maintain effectiveness of training results
Maintain Safety standards to comply with the Company safety programme

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12
National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM) or COMSOC 1 and 2
Certified Assessor or must achieve Certified Assessor within the first 12 months of employment
3 years’ technical experience at an underground mine
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Valid Code EB driver’s license
Working knowledge and experience of a Mining safety programme – please indicate which one(s) on your CV

Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Coaching and mentoring skills
Assessment and moderation skills
Facilitation skills

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy and Plan and internal candidates.
Pre-screening, profile testing, on mine assessments, medical and security clearance form part of the recruitment and selection process.
