A company in the sea craft industry has a vacancy for a Training Officer.

Job Description:

* Identify training and development needs on the lines / within departments by conducting skills audits and regular consultations with line /
Department Managers.
* Develop a skills matrix for lines/departments.
* Develop and maintain a training plan based on the needs of the organisation, lines/departments and individual employees.
* Work in a team to produce training programmes that are satisfactory to all relevant parties.
* Develop applicable training course material and presentations for in-house courses.
* Facilitate the on-boarding process.
* Manage the delivery of training and development programmes.
* Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers.
* Ensure that statutory training requirements are met.
* Ensure accurate capturing of all training and development activities.
* Evaluate training and development programmes.
* Amend and revise programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
* Maintain and adhere to quality standards at all times.
* Identify gaps and route causes, present and implement corrective / measurable solutions.

Requirements:

* Minimum: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 with at least 5 years’ relevant boat building experience.
* Ideal: National Diploma – ETDP / HR.
* Yacht and boat building qualification (NQF 4).
* Qualified Assessor.
* Sound knowledge of the Skills Development Act.
* Sound understanding of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement principles.
* Working knowledge and proficient in carpentry, composites, infusion, deck fitting, mechanical fitting and plumbing.
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
* Able to work overtime and under pressure.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills to inform and advise clearly.
* Problem solving and negotiation skills.
* Detail-conscious and conscientious in task execution.
* Strong organisational and planning skills to manage time and to meet deadlines and objectives.
