TRANSPORT CONSULTANT - TRADING DIVISION

a vacancy exists for the above mentioned position, in the Trading Division at the company's Head Office. The successful applicant will report to the Division’s Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Incumbent must be able to initiate and grow customer base within set budget and time frame guidelines
• Liaison with existing Transport Sub-contractors.
• Actively seeking new customers.
• Seeking new suitable transport sub-contractors.
• Appropriate vehicle sourcing.
• Administration, which includes debt control, budgeting, administration.
• Finalising and administering transport queries for Customers and Sub-contractors.
• Quotations, formalisation and presentation of transport quotes to customers.
• Negotiation of transport rates with both Customers and Transport sub-contractors.
• Compliance to SHEQ requirements and applicable legislations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric with a Diploma in Road Transportation Management or equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a brokering environment.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Windows 2000.
• Good organisational, verbal and written communication skills.

The successful applicant must be prepared to undertake limited travel and be available after hours as and when required, ability to act effectively under pressure and should be results driven.
