• Post matric qualification in logistics will be an advantage
• Code 10 drivers licence & forklift licence an advantage
• Proven experience in people and process management

Overall responsibility means taking full accountability for improving transportation by recognizing and responding to the needs of existing and potential customers along with effective sourcing and management of transport partners.
To develop and maintain effective transport strategies which will minimise costs and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibility and taking full accountability for improving customer service through despatch planning and administration. Recognizing and responding to the business needs in terms of safety, security and risk management.

Transport and Logistics
• Coordinate haulage activities between relevant sites, departments, production, sales, management and logistics.
• Management and implementation of documentation control system and maintaining all files.
• Implement Export/Import standard operating procedures for each country we currently have projects with or plan to do business with in future
• Ensure logistics transport partner ( suppliers and subcontractors)management to ensure best deals without compromising lead-times and service.
• Production Planning – communicate daily with the factory managers to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
• Yard control – maintain procedures for receipting and storage of stock.
• Stakeholder management commercial arrangements and service level agreements (SLA’S).
• Management of the planning and scheduling logistics for the movement of stock.
• Manage the communication of in-transit progress to all relevant internal parties and customers.
• Ensures fleet control in terms of allocations and tracking of deliveries for expected times of arrival (ETA).
• Coordinate haulage activities between relevant departments, management and logistics organizations

Despatch, Planning and Administration

• Management of load planning and scheduling of vehicles by various service providers/ haulage contractors.
• Ensure all yard vehicles are kept in full operating condition.
• Management of despatch team, planning and administration processes.

Stock Control
• Management of stock levels and procurement procedures.
• Management stock counts and audits with finance and stock/ inventory control in system.
• Supplier management in terms of BBBEE Codes.

Safety, Security and Risk
• Safety during loading , people
• Security and controls to manage shrinkage.
• Management of CCTV and weighbridge controls.
• Manage stock losses and variance tracking.
