Requirements : A tertiary educational qualification in Transport and/or Logistics
: A minimum of 5-10 years’ Management experience in an Extra Heavy Duty Truck Transport/Fleet management /Logistics operation
: Experience in Raw Materials transportation and/or transportation within a Port environment is advantageous
Some Technical experience / knowledge with EHD truck workshop and maintenance activities
: Strong commercial orientation and business acumen is a necessity
: Excellent proven leadership skills
: Important experience includes resources management (fleet turnaround and operations, workshop and maintenance, equipment and labour), risk control, financial management (budgeting, monitoring of expenditure, strong emphasis on cost control etc)
: Knowledge and experience of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality systems and processes
: Optimal utilisation and development of resources (equipment and people)
: In-depth Industrial Relations experience
: Excellent proven customer service skills and the ability to effectively liaise with clients at all levels
High level of computer literacy
: Visible initiative and drive
: Valid Driver’s license

Job Objective : Manage the fleet of EHD trucks, and other yellow metal equipment, to ensure optimum resource availability and
productivity
Client satisfaction and servicing - ensuring optimum fleet
management in relation to client requirements, and productivity in
respect of shipping targets and requirements
This includes managing the day to day operations in respect of vehicle planning, vehicle maintenance workshop and related activities and personnel, and various consumables such as fuel, tyres etc
Ensures adherence to corporate governance principles,
operational agreements and established client
performance/service standards
Maintain solid customer and supplier relationships
: Staff management and development in line with the Company’s BEE targets and goals
