Job Description:

The Treasury Manager will play a critical role in assisting the Group Treasurer to set the strategic direction for Treasury function and will also, amongst others, provide functional support for the management and efficient execution of treasury transactions, treasury reporting, treasury controls and treasury accounting activities.
Ensure compliance with SA exchange control regulations which includes the drafting of exchange control applications to enable foreign exchange business expansion and providing feedback to ensure the continuation of previously approved foreign applicants
Assist in the execution of the dealing activities with financial institutions that is required to manage investments, funding, interest rate, commodity and foreign exchange positions.
Responsible for capturing, monitoring and understanding all the material financial market risks of the Group as well as the development of an appropriate risk management framework to ensure effective management of these risks.
Development and execution of all treasury management reporting
Further development and maintenance of detailed treasury policies for the group and it subsidiaries, as well as monitoring compliance of all treasury activities in relation with the policies.
Full responsibility for all hedge accounting processes and providing technical treasury accounting advice to internal stakeholders.
Direct and control te implementation of a treasury management system to improve efficiency, maintain control and enable better visibility of treasury transactions and mitigate treasury related risk.
Maintain a professional relationship with financial institutions including attending meetings to communicate the Group’s performance, business plans and financial objectives.
Manage the Group’s cash flow, short and long term borrowings and cash in the most efficient manner to ensure that the funding needs can be met

Qualifications:

Suitable tertiary qualification
Treasury experience at a large multinational corporation of financial institution (advantageous)
Strong communication skills
Commercially minded
Able to approach and challenge colleagues in a respectable manner and resolve issues.
Knowledge of IAS 39 and IFRS 9 as well as experience in documenting hedge designations and designing and conducting effective testing in accordance with the applicable accounting standards.
Solid experience with treasury risk management
Knowledge of Value-at-risk, Back testing and Stress testing advantageous
Solid problem solving skills.
