A well established and reputable Company based in Bellville (Western Cape) requires a reliable, punctual and well spoken individual to occupy the role of a Truck Driver Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the driver in ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all company policies, legal and SHEQ requirements.

• Housekeeping of vehicle or designated area
• Adherence to all Safety & Company rules and regulations 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loading and off-loading of bins and containers.
• Checking quality and marking of containers for bin census
• Getting documentation signed
• Vacuming of tanks
• Directing the driver to ensure the safe manoeuvring of vehicle by hand and verbal communication  
• Checking the daily vehicle inspection list
• Connecting and disconnecting of trailers
• Keeping inside of vehicle cab clean
• Dangerous goods decaling  
• Assisting in drum labelling, loading and off- loading
• Covering containers with nets or tarpaulins
• Coupling of trailers
• Changing tyres in case of puncture
• Cleaning spillages around bins during loading and off-loading process
• Cleaning the vehicle
• Fulfil any other functions such as cleaning the yard, loading of containers on customer’s premises, cleaning spillages, diverting traffic etc.
• Ensure Safety rules and regulations are adhered to

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• Good communication skills 
• 2+ experience in a similar role
