Our Engineering client is looking for a Turbo Generator Maintenance Supervisor to join their Witbank team:

Minimum Qualification Required

• N4 and a recognized trade certificate
• N2 with Trade papers

Minimum Experience Required

• At least 3 years commissioning and quality experience on turbine generator and auxiliary plant
• 10 years’ experience within the Mechanical engineering filed and/or Turbo Gen set machines
• Must reside in the Witbank area

Skills Required

• Sound technical knowledge of station maintenance and centre line.
• Understand and interpret engineering drawings
• Familiar with SABS ISO 9002 quality systems and the OHSA
• Familiar with Rotek BMS systems including Grievance and Disciplinary procedure, House Agreement and Quality Process.
• Technical report writing skills will be an added advantage.
• Fitting Skills – must be able to dismantle, refurbish and reassemble mechanical components
• Be a responsible Supervisor as per Plant Safety Regulations

Duties

• Supervise and plan the station maintenance and outage activities
• Ensure duties are carried out to company quality standards
• Ensure compliance to safety standards
• Maintain good relations with client and staff
• Management of subordinates.
• Task as per SOW (Resource)
• Safety & Quality aspects.
• Conduct meetings with subordinates
• Plant performance monitoring as per site requirements.
• Special projects & investigations
• Standby coverage as per schedule.
• Responsible person in terms of plant safety regulations.
• Supervisory duties related to manpower.
• Management and carrying out of subordinates PD&R
• Compilation and updating of sites systems and components’ work instructions, written Safe Work Procedures, Toolbox talk per activity and HIRA
• Responsible for plant permit systems.
• Attend Plant Safety Regulation awareness course.
• Mentoring of Trainees
• Handling subordinates HR/IR issues
• Knowledge and interpretation of engineering drawings including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Maintenance/Overhaul on mechanical components (pumps, gears, belts, etc) and identification thereof.
• Functions of mechanical components (pumps, gear, belts, etc.) and their integral parts
• Computer Literacy & turbine/generator and auxiliary systems.
• In depth knowledge of fitting techniques
