Position Description

• Turners are responsible for manufacturing metal components and assembling them to construct tools, industrial machinery, and machine components.
• They study assembly specifications to perform the most efficient order of processes required for specific projects.
• They also measure each large and small component to ensure they will fit together properly in the final design.
• They identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before the production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate conventional centre lathes & milling machines
• The ability to perform high speed precision turning and milling on both CNC and conventional equipment / machinery
• Screw cutting external and internal
• Drill, tap and ream hole on the milling machine
• Maintain a healthy working environment
• Maintain housekeeping and safety on machines
• Bore holes using boring heads
• Turning outside, inside diameters, shoulders and tapers
• Turning grooves, recesses and parting-off of materials

Knowledge And Skills

• Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
• Must be able to work in a team environment

Education And Experience

• N4 Certificate
• Turning Trade Certificate
• 3 years post Apprenticeship Milling and Turning work experience

Experience in Vertical And Horizontal Boring will be an advantage
Must be willing to work overtime as per operational requirements
