What will you be responsible for:
The position is aimed at a dynamic, focused individual who is able to provide an effective and efficient service to our sales channels and financial advisers by receiving, evaluating and responding to telephonic/electronic enquiries timeously
What work will you have to deliver on:
Making accurate underwriting decisions for new applicants and additional dependents applying to the Client by applying:
The Medical Schemes Act (legislation)
The Client Health underwriting policy
Standards, protocols and guidelines set
Liaising with brokers, applicants, members and doctors where applicable with regards to underwriting decision made either telephonically or in writing.
Provide clinical input to the underwriting team on medical information disclosed where condition specific waiting period/s may apply for underwriting decision to be made.
Effectively resolve any queries received
Educating relevant role players (internal and external) on underwriting as a risk tool.
Maintain a broad product, legislation and standards/protocols knowledge in order to effectively and accurately perform the role of underwriter
Adhere to organizational best practice and legislative requirements.
Identify trends and training gaps
Identify risks to the company and escalate accordingly
Maintain a consistent service delivery to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
Engage in appropriate training interventions to promote own professional development.
Drive and support effective teamwork within the department.
Demonstrate the company's values on a daily basis.

Minimum requirements which needs to be displayed in your CV:
1-2 years underwriting experience
Health underwriting experience an advantage
Minimum qualification - Gr 12 (Matric)
Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse (SANC Registration) is a minimum requirement
