Short term Insurance Personal Lines Underwriter

Requirements:
• Grade 12
• RE5
• Relevant credits in personal lines insurance
• Fit and Proper as per amended regulations.
• Adequate knowledge in the insurance industry.
• Bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
• Computer literacy – Microsoft office.

Duties:
• Provide personal lines underwriting and rating advice and acceptance of risk.
• Provide support with referral risk, unique risk undefined or mandates.
• Interpret and process technical information.
• Request and recommend changes to technical policy, endorsements and policy wording, underwriting manuals and underwriting rules.
• Determine underwriting needs and arrange for these to be developed.
• Provide support to queries i.t.o existing policies – claims, increased cover add-ons, interpretation of wording and cover renewals.
• Responsible for renewal recommendations, the processing thereof and the compiling of all communication to brokers and end-user clients.
• Responsible for renewals of policies, tariff calculations and doing necessary amendments.
