Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Unit Manager Commodity at their Supply Chain Department at the regional office in Libanon near Westonaria.

The appointee should:
Have a BComm Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced diploma in Supply Chain/Procurement/equivalent.
Have a minimum of 6 years' relevant experience in Supply Chain/Procurement environment/Contracts management
Be proficient in an ERP system
Have a proven track record of Strategic Sourcing, Contract Life Cycle management experience
Have the ability to perform in a complex, cross functional business environment
Have a proven track record of bottom line and long term value delivery on contracts
Have managed a team for at least 4 years
Have a sound understanding of contract negotiation methodologies and techniques
Have a sound understanding of inputs required in order to produce relevant TCO models
Have excellent mathematical, analytical and evaluation skills
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Technical qualification.

Key responsibilities include:
Management of the commodity commercial processes in line with commercial policies, procedures and business requirements;
Contract management of the commodity utilising different cost methodologies, business commercial models and optimisation practices in line with strategic objectives;
Manage the business and commercial spend profile for the specific commodity;
Optimise the usage of the commodity in analysing the process, cost, application and commercial processes incorporating into a cost and business savings model;
Advisory technical commercial expert role in the development and execution of commercial models;
Design and implement total cost of ownership models in the execution and implementation of commercial processes;
Lead the start of the commercial discussion in directing the business to utilise /implement the best methodology, vendor, product/service application, cost and other related commercial processes and practices in mitigating business risks;
Manage the entire commercial commodity value chain for the business in influencing the strategic direction of insourcing vs outsourcing, optimisation models, price negotiation, choices of tenders, methodologies and business applications;
Participate in the enterprise and supplier development strategic imperatives by influencing the commercial strategic model;
Manage the team execution by coaching and mentoring team members, managing team performance, development and alignment in terms of the overall commercial objectives;
Engage with regional internal and key external Stakeholders in managing the commodity portfolio in alignment to strategic and financial imperatives;
Manage financial and other related business risks in alignment to commercial strategic plans in the execution of the specific portfolio;
Successfully resolve any internal and external audit requirements pro-actively;
Maintain a risk register for the commodity in line with risk identification, prioritisation and mitigation;
Compile and present the operational and social labour plan for responsible area;
Prepare any required reports relating to regulatory and legislative commercial processes and entities
