Job Description:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be responsible for the co-ordination of the trackless fleet and maintenance of all underground trackless equipment according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications including adherence to the Trackless Mobile Machinery COP.

Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

• Over-inspect subordinates in their daily activities to ensure maintenance according to organizational standards
• Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to Production parameters
• Communicate equipment information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimize Production delays
• Analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implement improvements and changes to maximize equipment utilization
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders of the process to ensure operational optimization
• Ensure the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical and electrical repairs and installation work as required
• Plan activities in accordance with production, breakdowns, maintenance schedules and allocate/ source resources as required
• Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability
• Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performance and availability of equipment
• Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report any non-conformances
• Active participation to ensure adherence to Mine Health and Safety regulations and Environmental procedures, Company policies and procedures and personal and co-workers adherence to the Company’s safety, health and environmental objectives

Minimum Requirements:

• Be in possession of a relevant Engineering Degree or Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical with a Government Certificate of competency - GCC)
• Have 3 years’ essential experience post GCC as a Production Engineer in Trackless Engineering (i.e. Drill Rigs, LHDs, Dump Trucks, etc.)
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Mining Company Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test
• Be computer literate and competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Have relevant knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996)
• Have relevant and essential knowledge of Planned Maintenance, HR and stores systems
• Be in possession of a Valid Drivers’ License (EB/08)

• Demonstrate the ability to assess work team requirements
• Establish training needs and implement program for development
• Pass Assessment - Test will be done on Mine
• Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Strong leadership capability and ability to manage teams
