Our client, a leading international Gold and Platinum Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Unit Manager - Master Data Management person to join their Supply Chain Department at their corporate offices near Westonaria.

The appointee should:
Have a B Degree in Business or Computer Science or equivalent
Have a minimum 10 years of intensive hands on experience in MDM leadership, design, development, and configuration management or data management related field with Plant and Engineering equipment and components
Have in-depth knowledge of data management/data governance concepts, approaches, and tools, and keen understanding of the role of data governance in successful implementation of data strategy
Have strong working knowledge of SAP and Master Data Management functionality with experience integrating data from multiple applications
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirements:
APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or relevant supply chain certification or equivalent preferred
Project Management qualification an advantage

Key responsibilities include:
Maintenance of Supply Chain Master Data for the organisation to ensure reliable processing, automation, escalation and reporting
Ensure that master data management governance is core to the supply chain management process
Provide a fundamental link between supply chain processes and master data objects
Define a global Supply Chain MDM data model for Sibanye
Design business processes for managing Master Data throughout the data lifecycle, including data quality, metadata, business rule parameters and workflow; and
Provide project leadership and direction to other team members
Establish a Master Data Governance Policy, Procedures and Process:
Accountable for executing data maintenance processes in accordance with the data governance process framework
Establish Master Data Quality Standards
Responsible for adopting and deploying the data standards and business rules within their data domain.
Master Data Process Development
Responsible for staying current on data management and data governance, business rules and data standards as they are implemented
Build quality into supply chain master data management processes
Clearly documented master data management processes and roles
Enforcement of data standards for key data objects
Establish a “data entry at source” control framework for master data not managed in the centralised function.
Process to extract legacy master data, cleanse, transform (convert) and upload to supply chain data objects
Support the development of scorecards to track and measure the efficiency of the Supply Chain Master Data Governance process and compliance to it
Establish enterprise master data ownership by data object
Establish ongoing Quality Control procedures and master data audits
Responsible for the ongoing accuracy and consistency of Sibanye’s supply chain master data
Establish processes that ensure accurate data creation, maintenance, and monitoring of critical master data
Identify and manage data clean-up projects to improve data accuracy
Establish supply chain master data corrective measures and procedures
