Key Purpose
To ensure best of breed user experience in terms of mobile and website and to ensure that best practice designs and standards are applied to give users the best experience
Key Outputs
Business – Requirements Gathering

- Follow a structured process to gather, understand and document client requirements and interpret the user experience requirements that are implied.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers and business analysts to workshop ideas, develop concepts and define project goals.
- Work in a team that elicits and documents functional requirements and prioritisation from business stakeholders through workshops and relevant documentation.
- Identify key performance indicators to aid in the definition of a usability approach which supports user requirements, business objectives and best practices.
- Assess Business requirements in terms of usefulness and align business and user requirements

User Experience – Conduct Research

- Conduct research using UX methodologies.
- Conduct user research to understand the context of user behaviour and preferences to inform user interface solutions.
- Plan, design and execute user testing, including stakeholder interviews, focus groups, contextual enquiry and usability testing. This would involve coding.
- Collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative research and testing data using relevant analytical tools.
- Interpret channel analytics data to inform the understanding of customer behaviour and channel experience. This would include SQL analytics performed on the database as the job holder has full access to the database.
- Create accurate and adopted user profiles and personas as an outcome of research and usability testing.

User Experience – Design and present solutions
- Design the solution and produce UX outputs.
- Develop scenarios, navigation models and prototypes for demonstration of concepts. This could include photoshop, HTML code, CSS
- Review the approved CRS and PRS with the development team.
- If required, revert back to client or other stakeholders if UI design issues require business decisions in order to proceed.
- Answer queries from the development team on functional UI aspects of the required solution. Defend the client business requirements and user requirements
- Review and approve the output of the design and technical teams to ensure that the planned user experience is achieved during implementation.
- Liaise with Graphic Design team
- Ensure that design conforms to the Design Standards in terms of User Experience and Graphic design

User Experience – Project and Relationship Management

- Own and manage the UX component of projects.
- Facilitate design discussions; persuade stakeholders, and present results and solutions.
- Continuously identify and build relationships with relevant business, project and technical stakeholders through engagement on user interface related business requirements.
- Hold regular meetings with business and project stakeholders to ensure usability requirements are met and status feedback is provided
- Provide timely updates and reports on all usability initiatives to relevant business and project stakeholders.

Ad hoc matters

- User Interface Designs including real mock-ups to be used by Developers
- SQL queries, analytics and statistics
- Presentations to the business illustrating how to overcome issues
- Coding / coding review
- Create guidelines on UX and site standards, also consult on best practice wrt UX and design.
