A leading company in the IT industry based in Cape Town is currently looking for an amazing User Interface (UI) Designer to join their team.

They develop and support end-to-end e-commerce products for international customers. They develop business-to-business systems and back-end systems for customer support, finance, payment process management, risk and fraud management, and content management systems. As a team, they continuously look for ways to improve their products and processes.

Duties:
• Collaborating on design planning with UX Lead.
• Graphic design
o Designing marketing campaigns for application in a variety of scenarios, including print, web, email and social media.
o Use persuasion, emotion and trust design techniques
o Design of personas, journey maps
o Delivering infographics.
• UI and Web design
o Design elegant solutions to complex workflows.
o Executing design as a part of a team.
o Working closely with UX Designers to focus on how the solution works.
o Focus on what the solution will look like.
o Design across devices and browsers.
o Use persuasion, emotion and trust design techniques
o CSS/HTML
o Create functional prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
o Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centred perspective.
• Digital style guide
o Build and maintain digital style guide.
o Manage, organise and keep marketing assets up to date
• Research
o Researching best practice and design trends.
• Project discovery
o Workshops, requirements gathering and analysis.
• Evaluations
o Walkthroughs/Cross-browser/device testing
o Participating in usability evaluations
• Presenting deliverables to clients. Consulting with users, stakeholders and the broader team.
• Work closely with the UX and UI designers, as well as the marketing team to maintain consistency across platforms.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience:
• BSc degree or equivalent
• 3 – 5 years’ experience
• Proven enterprise UI design experience, including web design, graphic design and print design.
• Strong proficiency and working knowledge on design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Sketch.
• Experience designing across devices, with a focus on responsive design.
• Experience in agile environments, working with multi-disciplinary teams is a plus.

• In-depth knowledge of the following: user interface design best practices and standards.
• Knowledge of core UX concepts: User-Centred Design (UCD); information architecture; usability testing; interaction design; user research.
• A solid understanding of the difference between UX and UI.
• Understanding of SDLCs and common software development practices.
