Our client in the retail industry requires the service of Utilities Project Officer to manage utilities related projects including tariff conversions, utilities invoice variance investigations, electricity meter installation and maintenance and Power Factor Correction installation and maintenance.

Key performance areas:

? Investigation and recovery of Utilities over-charges and reduction of back-charges
? Management of the tariff optimisation project
? Management of the Power Factor Correction project
? Identification of water leaks
? Electricity meter installation verification
? Equipment procurement including setting detailed technical specifications for articles, identifying and vetting prospective suppliers, testing and developing prospective articles and negotiating prices and rebates
? Feasibility studies
? General office administration
? Management and assistance with Utilities related projects as necessary
? Management of relationships between the Utilities department, clients and service providers
? Enhance effectiveness and efficiencies in the team through project identification and initiation

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with BEng Degree (Electrical OR Industrial OR Mechanical)
? A Project Management Certificate will be advantageous
? Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience within a similar role
? Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel & MS Projects)
? Experience in a Utilities environment is advantageous
? Experience with Google Sheets and Docs will be advantageous
? Ability to work in a team setting
? Ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment
? Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients and suppliers
? Ability to use initiative in dealing with challenges as and when they arise
? Must have strong analytical skills
