Requirements:
• Matric
• Engineering Trade in Electrical/Refrigeration
• 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Utilities experience related to electric repair and maintenance on all service, compressed
air, chilled water, HVAC, building maintenance
• Knowledge of computerised maintenance systems (Pragma)
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• BAAN would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

Process Optimisation
• Ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out as per job card
• Update and maintain maintenance schedules.
• Ensure that equipment and machinery is checked and calibrated fit for purpose
• Ensure that call outs are attended as per breakdown and that relevant process/ paperwork
(job card) is completed
• Ensure that were deviations are encountered it is communicated to Maintenance Group
Leader for production and process improvement
• Review job cards to identify problems and corrective actions within Pragma

Calibration Audit
• Carry out planned calibration/legal inspections and tasks as per internal audit schedule
• Liaise with Production on a daily basis to ensure engineering support at all times.
• Manage spares, equipment, installations, repairs and commissioning of all relevant assets.
• Plan the accommodation and implementation of strategic decisions according to the agreed
schedule.
• Manage and control all engineering deviations according to the agreed plan.
• Control and monitor all PPM activities and job cards in accordance with the computerized
maintenance system.
• Manage and control all work carried out by contractors
• Perform ad-hoc duties as and when required.
• Maintain high levels of GMP in production areas.
• Ensure feedback mechanisms are adhered to.
• Ensure % downtime reduction targets are met.
• Ensure due date adherence and % start date adherence.
• Strive to achieve agreed lead-time.
• Ensure that these measures are user-friendly, updated daily and used in daily meetings to
problem solve.
• Ensure response to customer requirements (work orders).
• Ensure that SOP’s are updated to reflect current practices, ensuring compliance with 2 year
update standard.
• Ensure no reworks are done due to their negligence.
• Ensure contractor compliance with GMP /GEP and SHE legal requirements within areas of
work.
• Facilitate with the team the re-design of Engineering systems, SHE Management systems and
protocols and ensure all contractors are trained as required.
• Meet Housekeeping standards.
• Improve Quality processes.
• Assist in promoting the use of change control systems for all installations and modifications
and process safety protocols.
• Ensure integrity of engineering services and SHE compliance directives are governed by SOP’s
adherence and ongoing contractor coaching and counselling.
