Job Description
The UX and Design Manager sets the strategy and drives the roadmap for UX and Design, with a focus on profitable growth through improved user experience, usability and conversion optimisation. You will be managing a team of 5 UX and UI designers in South Africa and Nigeria. You will be responsible for establishing the objectives and plans for the department, championing UX, mentoring your team and working closely with senior management and the development team key projects.
You will be expected to manage and increase the outputs of your growing department, whether that is through reviewing your team’s work, or rolling up your sleeves and producing deliverables yourself. Requirements:
Minimum of 4-6 years UX and visual design management experience with a good understanding of user centred design methods
Team management experience
Experience in mobile first design (app and responsive)
Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative analytics data
Experience in user testing and analysis methods, such as card sorting, user interviews and usability testing
Proficiency in UX prototyping and wireframing tools such as Axure, Sketch, Balsamiq or XD
A strong portfolio of work demonstrating your previous UX and design work and methods
Must be open to occasional travel

Experience in A/B testing and conversion optimisation

Duties:
Establishing a strategy and roadmap for omni-channel UX and Design improvements with buy in from key stakeholders and Engineering/Product
Managing the UX and creative process, workflow deliverables and team to deliver outstanding work
Implementing UX and Design processes and reporting that improve team efficiency and outputs
Leading the development and execution of creative concepts, digital assets, screen designs and brand style guides
Leading and executing the user testing strategy, with a view to improving navigational structures, and conversion rates across multiple platforms
Producing UX deliverables, such as prototypes, personas, user journeys, wireframes, and user requirements
Daily project management of UX and Design deliverables in Jira
Working closely with product managers and engineering teams to define UX project acceptance criteria and assist in quality control
Utilising customer insights, customer support feedback loops and analytics to make data-driven decisions that will optimise the user experience and improve key website KPIs such as average order value, conversion rate, and funnel drop-offs
Supporting and validating your team’s work through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
Preparing deliverables and presentations to inform, educate and influence stakeholders
Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and vendor partners (some of which are remote)
