We develop, sell and maintain a commercial HR software application to corporations throughout South Africa with some clients outside of SA.  Our team consists of self-directed individuals for whom our work is an extension of who we are.  We see our clients as business partners and the position we offer is part of our strategy to grow our business further into becoming a leading brand in HR Software Solutions.  We're looking for a software developer who can work on his own without supervision.

Duties will include:

• Development of new modules on our commercial software
• Custom development tasks based on client requests (usually developed as plugins)
• Development and maintenance on existing modules
• Development on our in-house management system (might be commercialised later on)
• Software testing and debugging and sometimes advanced technical support
• Maintain database, write SQL queries to process / extract data for some clients in certain instances

Working hours are flexible as long as 40 hours per week is worked and developer can work from anywhere in Gauteng.

 

Skills / Key Performance Areas:

• VB.NET, .NET Framework, SQL Server and MVC
• Development of n-tier applications using either .NET Remoting, WCF or similar technologies
• Self starter with the ability to solve complex problems
• Communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated history of delivery of completed projects
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft .NET and other Microsoft platforms, products and tools
• Develop integration with 3rd party systems

Qualifications:

• Required / Non-negotiable:
  • Grade 12
• Advantageous
  • University computer science degree or relevant Microsoft Certified Certification

Skills / Experience:

• VB.NET & ASP.NET
  • Development and design of both Windows and web applications including n-tier development using .NET Remoting, WCF, Web Services or similar technologies
  • Minimum experience:
    • 24 months coding for an organisation
  • Requirement:
    • Non-negotiable
• MS SQL Server 2005 or newer
  • Relational database design (Tables, views, indexes, etc.) and coding in Transact-SQL (Queries, Stored Procedures, Functions, etc.)
  • Minimum experience:
    • 12 months formal experience
  • Requirement:
    • Non-negotiable.  More than 12 months experience preferred.
• ASP.NET MVC pattern
  • Developed and completed a MVC site or work on one as part as a development team
  • Experience:
    • 12 months
  • Requirement:
    • Strongly recommended
• Javascript & jQuery
  • Advantageous
