1. The senior analyst is responsible for the detailed, technical work performed for QSE and Generic Scorecards :-

-the Verification Manager and the Senior Analyst review the client request form to assess agency capacity and interpret the scope of the verification to be performed.
-the Senior Analyst attends the first client meeting to conclude the contract.
-conducts “initial meeting” with client where codes, procedures and documentary evidence are explained.
-advises and guides Junior Analyst and Administrator on requirements for the content of the client file.
-plans verification together with Verification Manager and analyst/s and assists in resource and time allocations.
-reviews completed client file and manages any further documentary requirements or client interactions
-briefs external experts where appropriate
-plans on-site visit and statistical sampling for client approval
-guides, supervises and reviews work of Junior Analyst during the verification process
-produces or reviews draft scorecard and report
-presents completed scorecard and report to the Verification Manager
-Identifies non-conformances and risks detected during the verification process and recommends amendments and training to the Verification Manager.

2. The Senior Analyst must be fully conversant with all legislation pertaining to BEE, company law, accounting systems and any other legislation that may be pertinent to the verification process.
3. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for the training and supervision of analyst on the verification process.
4. Be willing to undergo any training required.
5. Be computer literate.
6. Reports to the Verification Manager.

VERIFICATION ANALYST

Communication

Ability to communicate with both clients and staff
- speaking, listening,telephonically, in writing and in person

Ability to –
- communicate telephonically, in writing and in person with client.
- communicate with staff and clients on verification
requirements and processes.
- train staff.
- brief outsourced experts.
- conduct correspondence on all matters pertaining to verification with client.

- Have a good understanding of English grammar and have the ability to create, correct and edit documents.

Numeracy

Ability to do all the calculations and sampling pertaining to the seven elements of BEE and the resultant scorecard and to check the work of junior analysts
- Ability to do complex calculations such as
• total procurement spend
• EBITDA
• value of shares
• value of remaining third party rights against black equity shareholding
• types of enterprise development spend
• complex equity instruments points
• points from ownership and complex structures

-Ability to plan, check and interpret statistical sampling.
-Ability to understand and interpret company financial statements.


BEE and other relevant legislation and systems

Ability to understand, interpret, convey and do analysis and train on all BEE and related
legislation and systems
- Have a complete knowledge and understanding of all
legislation pertaining to BEE, company law, other
relevant legislation and accounting systems.

- Ability to –
* explain and interpret all the legislation and
required documentary evidence to clients and
analysts
* check authenticity and validity of documents supplied
by the client
* guide, supervise and train analysts on all aspects of
the verification process
* understand , analyse, interpret and validate complex
ownership structures and industry charters.

InformationTechnology

Ability to create and manipulate data electronically Ability to:
-use software package, “Integrator” developed by Ownership Solutions for verifications.
-use Excel and Word programmes for correspondence and report writing.

Analytical and Interpretive

Ability to analyse and interpret company documents

- employment contracts
- job descriptions
- industry charters
- complex ownership structures
- company financial statements

Perform analytical review to assess reasonableness of Submissions. Conduct checks to validate information through the

Ability to manage a team, make decisions and identify all risks associated with the verification process

-motivate, control, guide and train a team of analysts
