Leading international retailer requires a Visual Merchandiser in the Durban area.

Requirements:

 

  • Matric/ Grade 12 certificate
  • A related degree \ diploma is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • Must be deadline and target driven
  • Previous merchandising experience within a similar environment would be an advantage
  • Excellent time management skills are required
  • Basic Computer Literacy essential (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license and own transport

Duties:

  • Ensuring that the store’s appearance and layout of merchandise is precisely compliant to the given brief
  • Creating impactful and exciting visual displays which showcase product, drive footfall and revenue
  • Constantly focusing on innovation and creativity to ensure fresh concepts
  • Initiating window/mannequin changes every two weeks.
  • Ensuring that I’m aligned to the brand’s marketing calendar and that all promotional and product themes are well highlighted and showcased in the store
  • Ensuring that there are visual elements of styling/ wardrobe dressing evident in the store
  • Working in collaboration with the National Visual manager to ensure that the Visual merchandising execution in the retail store meets the VM manual and agreed brand standards
  • Conducting research and presenting visual mood-boards on upcoming collection inspiration and trends to visuals department at model store, as well as store staff
  • Keeping abreast of the stock levels and ensuring that there is sufficient merchandise for brand standards and profitable revenue, also liaising with the area manager in order to maintain acceptable stock levels
  • Building effective working relationships with retail store management and staff to ensure the VM principles are maintained
  • Ensure that on the floor training occurs with the store staff and management, relating to store fixtures, merchandise, product launch themes and store layout
  • General Housekeeping and repairs
  • Making sales and providing customer service that is in line with brand standards
  • Compiling weekly reports detailing the contribution that the merchandise displayed on the mannequins in the store window has made to the stores turnover
  • Keeping track of the performance of various styles of merchandise for the purpose of repositioning stock with the objective of improving sales of underperforming merchandise.

 

 

Applicant must reside in Durban or be willing to relocate.
