Job Description:
VOIP Technician
An ICT solutions provider in Centurion is looking for a VOIP Technician.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, deploy and maintain Unified Communications/VOIP solutions for clients:

VoIP PABX Solutions and virtual PABX Systems, Voice Gateways & Data Routers.
Configuring VoIP/Software based PABX solutions and VoIP phones, configuring/converting of various routers and switches to effectively communicate via Analogue/BRI/VoIP(SIP).
Identify and repair faults both on site and remotely.
General IT maintenance and call outs.
Build & maintain strong relationships with customers.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ work experience within the Telecoms industry working on technical related tasks.
Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ proven Unified Communications work experience; working with Hosted/virtual PBX & VoIP systems; VOIP quality of service configuration, SIP Voice channels with QOS; Skype for business & PSTN technologies.
Understands Firewalls, worked on/understand Windows based operating systems (Advanced) & Linux based operating systems (Basic).
Previously programmed ADSL and Wireless routers, Gateways and analogue converters.
Valid driver’s license & relevant ICT qualification (A+ and N+ preferred)
Displaying excellence in customer service delivery, satisfaction & retention

QUALIFICATIONS
Non-negotiable:

Grade 12 & valid driver’s license
Relevant ICT qualification (A+ and N+ preferred)

Advantageous (nice to have):

Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or other applicable for Unified Communications/VOIP
Certifications: MCPS, MCSA, etc.

EXPERIENCE
Non-negotiable:

Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ work experience within the Telecoms industry working on technical related tasks.
Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ proven work experience with VoIP systems; SIP Voice channels with QOS; Unified communications; Skype for business and PSTN technologies.
Worked on/understand Windows based operating systems (Advanced).
Worked on/understand Linux based operating systems (Basic).
Previously programmed ADSL and Wireless routers, Gateways and analogue converters etc.

Other (non-negotiable):

Very good network and problem-solving skills.
Quality of Service on both voice and data.
A good understanding of Telecoms industry standards and terminologies.
