Waltloo/Silverton, Pretoria: JUNIOR CONSTRUCTION SITE FOREMAN
Minimum Requirements:
-Young Afrikaans speaking male
-Fully bilingual in Afrikaans & English (Afrikaans and English must be your first and second language)
-Matric / Grade 12
-2 to 3 years recent construction site management experience a must
-Experience in scaffolding erections advantageous
-Good communication skills (verbal and written)
-Strong analytical and time-management skills
-Decision-making skills
-Project management experience
-Valid driver’s license
-Computer literate in MS Office (Pastel experience advantageous)
-Reliable and trustworthy
-Stable employment record (no job hoppers)

Duties:
-Management and supervision on construction sites
-Travelling to various sites in Gauteng
-All Transport management (material and crew)
-Inspections on sites
-Scaffold programme management (gang charts)
-Quote vs Costing Management
-Stock Management on site
-Safeguard stock by having monthly minute meetings with the relevant security companies’ managers and guard on your sites and to enforce strict housekeeping on sites to prevent scaffolding being damaged or stolen
-Review work progress on daily basis (daily dairy)
-Manage all vehicles and carry out necessary inspections as per company requirements. (Monitoring of vehicles daily)
-Manage leave, time sheets and clock machines and warnings on a daily basis
-Arrange/attend disciplinary hearings
-Ensure all workers have valid ID documents or work permits.
-Manage contracts of staff members
-Ensure all necessary inductions are done
-Prepare internal and external reports pertaining job status
-Training on all HR matters for supervisor to empower him to fulfill all his HR duties on site
-Ensure that a complete and comprehensive Health and Safety file is on site prior to commencement of work
-Ensure that all statutory appointments have been completed and all statutory requirements are met.
-Ensure that all workers are in possession of the legal required certificates: medicals, erectors, working on heights etc. Ensure that all work is done by suitable trained and competent persons
-Ensure that the safety harness register is up to date and completed on each site
-Regularly inspect the harnesses for defects and to make sure that all workers are in possession of a harness and that they hook up on heights 1.5m and above
-Ensure that all safety registers i.e. scaffold inspection register, PPE register, Hand Tool register, DSTI’s, PTO’s, toolbox talks, Safety tags etc., are up to date and in accordance with company expectations.
-Provide crew with the relevant training to ensure that defective, damaged and unsafe scaffold are sent back to the yard for further evaluation.
-Ensure that yourself an workers are familiar with the SANS 10085-1:2004, OSHACT no: 85/1993, the Construction regulations 2014 and that all scaffold erection complies with the above.
-Ensure that health and safety committees are established and that regular minute meetings are held.
-Ensure that the required risk assessments are carries out and that all persons are aware of the hazards attached to the work being carried out and are fully conversant with the precautionary measures to be taken or observed to obviate such dangers
-Required to report any deviation for the above instructions, which can’t be rectified by yourself, to management immediately and include any such deviations in a written report to management
Salary: R 9 000.00 – R 11 000.00 gross (Depending on experience)
