Warehouse Assistant/ Driver position is available at Weylandts Umhlanga Distribution Centre!

Purpose/ Scope
This role assists the Warehouse Supervisor with all related activities, receiving and dispatching of goods, carrying out deliveries, maintenance of the warehouse grounds, and ensuring that all correct procedures are followed.

Main accountabilities:
• Receiving and dispatching of goods, quality checking deliveries to ensure damage free and that correct paperwork is adhered to. Notifying supervisor of any problems.
• Carrying out deliveries and installations as per schedule
• Movement of furniture/ Homeware items to and from shop floor,
• Ensure all products are loaded and handled correctly
• Ensure products are packaged correctly at all times
• Assisting customers load goods, ensuring client signs and sending POD’s back to inventory department on a weekly basis.
• Housekeeping/ maintenance of warehouse & surrounding grounds, ensuring that everything is neat, tidy. Must adhere to security measures (e.g. keep doors locked etc)
• Any trolleys, ladders to be kept in good working order.
• Assist National Merchandiser with floor changes in showroom
• General maintenance work when required either by the supervisor, merchandiser or the store manager (putting up picture frames, moving settings etc)
• Assist retail store staff as required.
• Ensure product knowledge is up to date – ongoing
• Adhere to Weylandts dress code at all times
• Assist in other related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Skills required:
1) Standard 10
2) Good command of the English language
3) Code 10 (PDP) Drivers Licence (non-negotiable)
