Key Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain control systems and programmesCount, control and verify stock within the boundaries of the policies and procedures set out.Maintain sound financial controlsProcess reports required involving stock costs, controls, sales, purchases and lossesDraft and implement departmental strategiesEffective management of staff within area of responsibilityMaintain good client and supplier relationsEffective planning of staff rosters, complementing business levels and service level agreementsMonthly Warehouse reporting on outlet performances to all relevant management (including re-setting of par levels and reporting on high stock holdings per category).Assist daily stock counts where necessary in all outlets across the complexMonth end stock takesEnsure that all policies and procedures set by the company and its client are being followed and well maintainedAssisting the Financial Manager, General Manager, Executive Chef and other relevant management with financial information, usage and purchasing reports detailing supplier issuesReport any problems, complications or issues regarding variances to the Financial controllerReport mis-use or abuse of stock items, be it operating equipment, Operating supplies , food & Beverage items .To make sure that any spilled or damaged goods are reported to the appropriate spillage procedure is followed Liaising with Support Services on the quote file with regard to new suppliers and product being listed and old suppliers and product being deletedProvide reporting on monitoring of potential price hikes on both food and beverage products, reporting on these to all relevant management and chefs.Provide stock holding report detailing problem areas and the relevant solutionsFood Cost – reporting from a warehousing support base to strive to achieve 1% lower than the budgeted food cost percent and to remain 0.5% in a positive when comparing the theoretical result to the actual result.Beverage Cost – reporting from a warehousing support base to strive to achieve 1% lower than the budgeted beverage cost percent and to remain 0.5% in a positive when comparing the theoretical result to the actual result
