Our client, a leader in the retail world, is looking for an experienced and skilled DC Manager at their Kempton Park offices. The ideal candidate should be well experience in the warehouse, distribution and supply chain industry.

The Distribution Centre has complete responsibility for inbound and outbound functional processes, managing all aspects of stock handling from receipt from suppliers to dispatch to customers.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in logistics/supply chain is essential
• Min 5 yrs previous experience in warehouse as warehouse-/ DC manager essential
• Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practises in a warehousing environment.
• Solid ERP systems knowledge essential
• Candidates must be able to work shifts – one week from 7am – 4pm and next week 12pm – 10pm + one Saturday and one Sunday a month

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Overall management and coordination of the warehousing function.
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly planning is done for all warehousing operations and manage adherence to plan.
• Effective management of housekeeping.
• Effective leadership and direction for the operation team through involvement and communication to deliver on the relevant key business
drivers.
• Constantly seek new ways to improve the warehouse efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Manage the daily warehouse operations of receiving, put away, storage, picking, packing and dispatch according to agreed lead times.
• Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained through disciplined stock control and a formal cycle count program.
• Plan and manage stock takes, coordinate analysis of stock take results and implement stock accuracy improvement initiatives.
• Management reporting in terms of operational performance, productivity, stock control and budgets.
