We require the services of a Warehouse Manager for an Engineering electronic technology Solutions company based in Johannesburg.

Our client is a JSE list engineering firm that specialises in electronic technology development for the telecommunications, defense, transport and energy industries.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12, Post Matric qualification, Degree or Diploma

• 3-4 years management experience in a similar role

• Excellent knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics Management.

• Computer Proficient in all Microsoft packages

• Knowledge of Syspro

Key responsibilities

• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution, by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

• Control and manage slow moving/obsolete stock levels.

• Inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

• Achieves objectives by; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.

• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

• General stores administration in relation to procedures.

• Housekeeping and general stock management.

• Inventory management, warehouse layout, inventory movement, shrinkage, and losses.

• Prioritization of picking sequence to ensure that production deadlines and delivery deadlines are met (One Time in Full) meeting production deadlines in terms of issuing stock to production.

• Customer service, company image enhanced in the eye of a customer by promoting the interest of the client.

• Daily reports to be managed: Stock in receiving, picking shortages, overdue PO’s and new jobs/ orders and picking allocations.

• Management control of department; Adherence to HR policy; performance reviews, Disciplinary procedure, Training and Developments. Recruitment / Job Descriptions and SOP’s.

• The personal contribution made towards enhancing company profitability.

• Security: Ensure that access control adhered to all times and that stock movements in / out are transacted timeously.

• Improvement initiatives in the warehousing processes and procedures through quarterly reviews and recommendations through project management.

• Complete findings and CAPA’s on all NCR’s raised against the warehouse activities.

• Enable a safe and harmonious environment for all employees/ visitors by ensuring that the BCEA OHS Act and LRA are adhered to.

• Set and manage all warehouse and staging plans

• Prioritise receiving – as per the daily delivery schedule

• Ensure production daily deadlines are met in terms of staging and issuing of stock

• Picking staging and binning according to plan

• Delivery schedules are met and on time collection and delivery.

• Produce regular reports and statistics

• Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met

• Have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these

• Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary

• Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate

• Plan future capacity requirements

• Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress

• Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded

• Produce regular reports and statistics on a weekly and monthly basis

• Brief supervisors and stock controllers on a daily basis

• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.

• Oversee the planned maintenance, machinery, and equipment

• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

• Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

• Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
