Warehouse Supervisor required for a distribution company based in Jet Park, JHB

Job purpose
• Oversee the efficient storage of goods in/from the warehouse and all branches.
• Ensuring that the internal controls are properly developed and maintained
• To manage people, process, and systems so that productivity targets are met
• Oversee maintenance of warehouse and labour management
• Ensure workplace health & safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
• Ensuring the accuracy of the stock is maintained to a level of 95%
• Ensuring the bin accuracy of the stock is maintained to a level of 98%

Knowledge
• Working knowledge of the SAP system, advanced Excel & Power Point
• Knowledge of ISO quality Procedures
• Excellent supervising and people skills, strategic thinking & experience in leading
• High Level analytical & problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Experience in operation & Logistics a must
• 5 years’ experience of warehousing and inventory control
• Experience in the Mining & Motor Industry highly advantageous

Experience
• Own Transport and valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 5 years warehouse supervising experience
• Must have managed a staff compliment of at least 20 people
• Must have warehousing and inventory control experience
• Must have HR or IR knowledge

Responsibilities
Typical Work activities include:
• Having a clear understanding of the companies policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these;
• Keeping stock control systems up to date, ensuring inventory accuracy
• Monitoring of staff performance & progress
• Managing staff time keeping & productivity
• Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded;
• Produces regular reports and statistics on a monthly basis;
• Maintains standards of health & safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
• Responsible for the smooth running, accuracy and recording of Bin audits, cycle counts, and wall to wall counts including year-end counts & stock takes with external auditors
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
• Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with SAP system
• Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counselling and disciplining employees and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
