We are looking for an effective Warehouse Supervisor in our Grand Central Warehouse Facility just off New Road in Midrand to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. The incumbent will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products that we offer to both our Contract clients and to Distribution clients that we will be targeting in the next 12 to 24 months.

Ultimately, the incumbent must be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved in accordance with the company’s KPA’s and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. These will be aligned to the Staff Performance and FinCon systems.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

The main tasks of Warehouse Supervisor include but is not limited to:

Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
Prepare annual budget
Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

Skills and Job Requirements:

From 5 - 8 years’ experience working as a Product Supplier Warehouse Supervisor or similar experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration.
Must have Matric.
Excellent communication and client interface skills, both in speaking and writing.
Microsoft Office skills. Proficient in basic Excel (formatting, filtering, sorting data) and Word Strong attention to details of their work.
Must be a quick learner.
Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
Must be a team player and have strong organization skills to enable efficient processing and clear communication.
Must be able to multi-task, manage a large volume of communication (e.g., email, phone, fax).
Must have strong teamwork skills to assist others and have the ability to commit to team goals, activities and schedules.
Must be able to accept direction on adherence to policies, programs and procedures.
Must have good business perspective skills with the ability to look at problems or projects through the eyes of the customers, competitors,
co-workers and managers.
Must have own transport.
Proven work experience as a warehouse manager.
Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
Leadership skills and ability manage staff.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
