My client based in Johannesburg North is looking for a junior - intermediate experience web designer.

You will be responsible for the following:

Design and maintain websites as required. Including Mobile websites, HTML5, iOS, Windows, Android, etc;
Design and maintain email templates;
Conceptualizing new designs that are both functional and user-friendly;
Constantly improve UX through design;
Develop creative content from scratch. Working within tight client briefs and with supplied assets;
Coding for the creation of new and maintenance of existing websites;
Proposing website solutions as required;
Coding and testing of mailers to best practice standards;
Working with development team for quality control and coding guidelines;
Follow intellectual property guidelines for the various brands;
Consultation with client to ensure understanding of brief/product requirements;

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years relevant experience
Relevant degree/ diploma
Portfolio demonstrating website design and mobile design (apps)
Mobile UX/UI experience – responsive design/websites and native apps
Passion for graphic design, human-computer interaction and interaction design
Strong eye for typography, color and hierarchy
Firm grasp of current trends and best practices for the web and mobile world and understanding of technology used in designing interactively
Solid knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility
Have excellent knowledge of Illustrator, Adobe (Photoshop & Dreamweaver), In-Design, HTML(5), ASPX, PHP, CMS and CSS.
Basic knowledge and experience with ASP, C#, HTML5 and DNN sites advantageous
Proven experience in internet technology and website design

You will be reporting to Head of Design.
