Purpose of the Job:
Our client is South Africa’s oldest metal recycling company. For almost a century, the client has purchased, collected, processed and recycled all forms of ferrous metals (iron and steel) and non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, zinc, stainless steel, lead, nickel, brass, tin, bronze and others).
Our client’s conveniently-located scrap yards in and around Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, they purchase scrap metals from a range of Southern African sources including industrial enterprises, scrap metal dealers and private individuals. In addition, the client acquires scrap metal from outside projects, where it is able to provide expert demolition services to mines and factories. It is fully equipped to deal with all environmental hazards including radioactive material and asbestos.
Our client strives to provide the best markets to their suppliers of scrap metals, to supply quality-controlled processed scrap metals, the highest quality steel and non-ferrous products manufactured from recycled scrap metals, the safest and most innovative demolition services and the most efficient waste removal solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Operating the weighbridge and generate the weighbridge tickets.
• Ensuring that all vehicles, trucks and containers are weight accurately.
• Ensuring that different commodities in the vehicle are weighed separately.
• Make sure Radiation reports are printed per truck or container leaving premises
• Assist with any other administrative duties in the payment department

Requirements:

• Matric
• 1 year experience in Metal Recycling environment.
• Excellent organizational ability
• Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing) in English, and preferably other South African languages
• Experience in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
• Be willing to work overtime
• Standard hours 07h00 – 16h30 Monday – Thursday
• 07h00 – 14h00 Friday
