RedCat Recruitment is seeking a WETMILL PRODUCTION MANAGER for a large well-established manufacturing concern – position based in the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal (in the Kokstad area).

REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
National Diploma in Wood Science/BSc.
5 years’ experience in a production / processing environment in a middle managerial position.
Raw lumber processing through frame and chipping saws.
Sound understanding of saw blade sharpening, tensioning and general saw blade preparation.
Experience in developing and designing of log cutting patterns.
Experience in kiln drying technology and processes.
Log intake planning and coordination with harvesting management.
Log sorting planning and design of cutting patterns.
Optimum processing through wet sawing process.
De-stacking and quality drying.
Responsible for plant availability.
Manage health and safety of plant and people.
Person must have strong management and leadership skills.
Person will be responsible to manage the wet mill process of the mill, from log resource planning through to kiln processing. The ideal incumbent will also be responsible for the planning and controlling of production operations as well as ensuring that maximum value and productivity are achieved and that the correct volume recovery is achieved.
