Well known Tour Operator with their Head Office in Sandton requires a DMC Wholesale Assistant Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the following:Ensure the DMC Wholesale teams’ contact with Agents and staff is done Continuously striving to ensure that we are the best Experiential Travel Company in the worldEnsure instant communication with all relevant parties Be on call for any major emergencies and immediately alert the Manager and consultantConstantly re-evaluating internal processes, eliminating any re-work to ensure the smooth, effective and efficient functioning of the teamsActively work at removing any hurdles and improving information flow with the best interest of the agents/operators and their guests, and suppliers in mindContinuously striving to ensure that relationships with Agents, Guests, Suppliers and Lodges remain strong Quality control of itineraries and cover letters sent to the agents Managing a team of travel consultants and a reservations assistantContinuous mentoring of consultants and lead by exampleInterviewing and hiring new staff in alignment with HR toolkit and following authorization process in conjunction with your ManagerEnsure that the team has all the necessary selling tools at its disposal to ensure competitiveness and to ensure that the team reaches it budgeted targetDealing with complaints arising before, during or after guests have travelled in conjunction with your ManagerManage costs in line with revenues and budgets in conjunction with the reservations managerAbility to operate files should the need ariseKNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:Extensive knowledge of TourplanIn-depth Geographical, Logistical and Product Knowledge of South, Southern and East AfricaPrevious management and/or supervisory experienceQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:3-5 years management or supervisory experience in the hospitality/tourism industry (tour operating environment preferred)Minimum of 3 years inbound experience at a senior level in the hospitality/tourism industrySKILLS REQUIRED:Excellent knowledge of work and excelA good command of the English Language in both the written and spoken formExcellent telephone mannerAbility to solve problemsAbility to make decisions quicklyGood organizational skills including desk and time management skills with high attention to detailAbility to communicate in a clear, concise, consistent and transparent manner
