Winch Driver

Job Description:
A Winch Driver will lift and pull heavy material using cable equipment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Monitoring the lift and pull operation.
• Ensure maintenance and repairs of winch.
• Adhering to the Safety Regulations of the Mine
• Utilising electrical operated equipment on the winch.
• Monitoring the indicators and gauges to confirm the position of the load and to reposition if necessary.
• Selecting the correct load according to size and weight and loading/unloading using equipment and machinery.
• Declaring the work area safe and hazard free.
• Ensuring that the drums are always lubricated.
• Be capable of operating diesel, fuel, electrical or compressed air winches to assist in the control of cages, loaders, skips, railcars and cableways.
• Recording of services executed on the machinery.

Minimum Requirements:
• 5 years’ underground experience.
• Competent B MQA Certificates.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Certificate of Competency in Operating a Winch

• Pay Attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring and operating safe loads.
