About the Company:
A well-established and highly successful company in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is currently in need of a WMS Specialist at their Maitland Warehouse & Distribution Department. The company was already founded in 1996. The company is a leading frozen dough & confectionery manufacturer. It provides high quality products to areas where it was not readily available and provides products to more than 3000 bakeries countrywide.
SUMMARY
The WMS SuperUser is responsible for the efficient transmission of information and the storage and analysis of information by means of computer networks systems, the Internet, and databases.
Responsibilities include maintaining and supporting the facilities computer systems. The WMS SuperUser will provide general maintenance and system updates on network hardware and software, analyze problems, ensure network availability to users and gather data to evaluate system performance and identify user needs or requirements.
May be required to be “on call” outside of normal business hours in order to resolve system failures or other problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
• Acts as the primary support of the systems solutions for the user community
• Develops and maintains tracking tools for support service requests and resolutions by location and resource
• Engages appropriate expert resources when complex support issues arise outside of the WMS and/or SYSPRO application
• Works with the management team to help implement, maintain, and improve Internal Systems
• Ensures that system hardware is used and maintained responsibly
• Test and coordinate modifications to the system when needed, and troubleshoot problems when they occur.
• Maintain communication with IT and operations staff and work with IT to resolve complex issues.
• In collaboration with IT determines ways to store, organize, analyze, use, and present data.
• Produce regular reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are current.
• Train associates on updated SOP’s and WMS programs.
• Respond to all inquiries about WMS and/or other related computer related issues and refer questions to appropriate person when needed.
• Assist with various research projects and/or special projects.
• Ensures that procedures exist to guarantee client service, productivity, as well as facilities and equipment maintenance
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Relevant tertiary qualification and experience is basic requirement
• Minimum of 2 years of job related/relevant experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills
• Microsoft Office skills
• Technical knowledge of technologies appropriate to the assigned application or set of applications, business unit or region
• Experience in the administration and maintenance of infrastructure, software, systems, etc.
• Experience with SYSPRO and proprietary WMS
• Wi-Fi experience / RF systems and equipment experience
Language Skills
• English (reading, writing, verbal)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of warehousing logistics experience is preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The working environment might occasionally expose the employee to sub-zero temperatures as is normal for a frozen storage facility.
