Matric (Grade 12) level of education
§ Diploma or progress toward a Transport related qualification would be an advantage
§ Qualified Diesel Mechanic – with recognized/ verified trade test § Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
§ Proven Supervisory skills / experience with Leadership qualities with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Supervisory Position § Experience on MAN trucks would be an advantage
§ Computer literate (MS Office) § Must have experience in the mechanical and auto electrical fields
§ Excellent communication skills and professional etiquette § Ability to communicate in English/Afrikaans is essential
§ Ability to communicate in isiXhosa would be an advantage
§ Mechanical appreciation and awareness
§ Experience in industrial relations knowledge including investigation and initiation of disciplinary enquiries
§ Assertive and confident by nature
§ Good interpersonal skills are very important as the
§ incumbent will be expected to communicate on a regular basis with clients / customers
§ Visible initiative and drive
§ Knowledge and understanding of NOSA/ISO systems and procedures
§ The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
§ Prepared to perform shift work, overtime and duty weekends § Highly organized and meticulous

§ Strong administrative and time management skills
§ Must be proactive, self-motivated and able to solve problems
§ Valid code 14 (EC) driver’s license and other technical machine operator’s licenses essential e.g. Forklift / Pay loader license

Job Objective : § Responsible for preparing vehicles for certification of fitness and road worthiness;
§ Planning, scheduling, utilizing trucks, liaising with clients and their customers, programme distribution, manage Drivers and Loaders.
§ Attending pre-plan meetings and daily planning meetings § Workshop management to audit specifications
§ Quality management § Manage the team of mechanics and technicians, assist and guide
§ Liaise with relevant personnel ranging from municipal officials, suppliers, service providers, management and company employees
§ Evaluate costing and control outsourcing of repairs;
§ Mechanics and Technician training and coaching
§ Workshop and job loading allocation
§ Purchasing of parts and arranging services for equipment and fleet
§ Tracking, monitoring and surveillance of fleet via satellite tracking
§ Special tool/consumables/workshop equipment assessment and checking.
§ Parts and tools stock control
§ Basic maintenance site control and upkeep,
§ Site security and surveillance
§ Safety and work performance of own and sub-contractor drivers
§ Dealing with IR related issues
