My name is Anabella Goncalves and I am currently 23 years of age. I am the middle child of two sisters, one who is 24 years and the other who is 15 years of age. I recently completed my studies in a BCom Intrapreneurial Management Degree, at the University of Johannesburg, in which I achieved my majors in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management and Financial Management. During my school career I attended three different schools namely: Marist Brothers Linmeyer, The Christian School of the Arts (CSA) and Reddam House. I completed my secondary studies with a Bachelor’s degree and have excelled in my tertiary studies with an invitation to join the Golden Key Honors Society of UJ after my first year. My key saying in life which I have and always will abide by is; "You are never presented with a challenge that you do not have the abilities to overcome". I would describe myself as a creative, dedicated and hard-working individual that has and always will persevere in all that I do until my desired outcome is achieved. I naturally tend to take the leadership role in group scenarios due to the fact that I enjoy being in control, however, this does not mean that in such situations I am not open to the opinions and ideas expressed by others – especially that which is expressed by my clients. I do believe that this is important in order to achieve the best results possible in the satisfaction of everyone involved. The reason as to why I have chosen to apply for a freelance position of this type is because studying a BCom Entrepreneurial Management Degree in which I had majored in Marketing Management, I strongly believe that online marketing (be it in the form of a website or social media platforms) is a very powerful tool which businesses can utilise as a means to not only reach valuable brands but direct and prospective consumers as well. One would automatically associate this to achieving successful business operations in terms of increased sales and leads, building up a substantial consumer base, increased brand awareness etc. confirming my belief that such an industry will have a constant demand in the future ahead. However, it takes the right individual with the right skills. For this reason I set aside a few months to study and teach myself how to develop and design websites using the software programme; Wordpress. Once I had completed my self-training and felt ready, I obtained my first client being Grey Glass Systems (Pty) Ltd after which Remake Tile Gallery (Pty) Ltd and Kopanong Financial Services (Pty) Ltd approached me as well. During the course of all of this, I also took on a part-time marketing and website development position for a Digital Marketing Company called Get Recognized who specialise their services towards the Medical Industry. However, after a few months of working alongside my two colleagues during which I had been offered a full-time position in the company, I decided to leave the company with the ambition of growing my own digital marketing company which I had operating on the side. This unique experience I have had up until present day has only urged me to further expand my knowledge, skills and experience in this dynamic industry.
