although I have only recently started my OHS career, I believe I would be a great asset to any team I join as my passion and drive for health and safety as well as my practical experience in the construction field means that I have a knowledge base from both the HSE side as well as production. I started my professional career as a trainee lineman in 2011 directly after school for Tractionel Enterprise, during which I received training in multiple disciplines and fields which can pertain to diverse industries, such as: working at heights, excavation safety, crane operation, gas cutting and welding, first aid level 2, basic fire fighting,working on and to clearance from live high voltage electrical equipment, basic rigging etc. alongside this I was also unofficially appointed as an unofficial SHEQ assistant where I conducted training, completed inspections, created and maintained documentation and assisted the safety officer on multiple sites. I took a voluntary retrenchment package in 2017 to further my studies within the field of OHS. more recently I completed a short contract as a junior OHS officer for NJM heat treatment and NDE. a service provider on the SASOL secunda 2019 shutdown. this company specializes in pre- and post welding heat treatment and non destructive testing. This experience, though short, exposed me to multiple work disciplines within a highly volatile petrochemical environment and I consider this experience invaluable. At the start of 2020 I was employed by HHK, a company located in the Gauteng area specializing in the installation and maintenance of new and existing earthing and lightning protection systems for construction projects and existing buildings ranging from private homes, malls and large industrial complexes such as breweries and factories, their clients included, but were not limited to SABInBEV, Toyota, INVESTEC, Samancor, Sasol etc. My duties there as a construction health and safety officer were to create and maintain health and safety systems, work with client health and safety officials, ensure legal, standard and client specification compliance, monitor and review the H&S management system and provide administrative support in terms of health and safety to all their nationwide branches. In short I am a highly motivated and driven individual with experience in various disciplines and fields, both physically and as pertaining to health and safety. I believe that this experience, as well as my passion for the field would definitely make me a strong asset for your team and I look forward to learning and growing with any company who employs me.
