Hi there, fellow musician, I am a young vibrant and talented violinist offering violin lessons to all levels and all ages. My name, is Crispian Anyster. I was born into a family of music and as a child I took a keen interest in music at the very young age of three and have been playing ever since. I was very impressed and fascinated by the sounds that came from various instruments which were present in my childhood home. I eventually took an interest in the violin and piano and later settled to develop my musical talent on the violin. Growing up, I sang in Church choirs across, Soprano, Alto and Tenor voices and attended choral events, Mass Choir Summer Schools in and around South Africa. Attending orchestral workshops came later as I developed my talent on the violin in the higher grades. I remember a Trinity College examiner writing in a past grade report once, "Talented Performer". I was also a member of the Musicanti Chamber Orchestra in Cape Town as 1st violinist from 2014 - 2016 under the baton of Erika Naumann the director and 1st & 2nd Violin at University Of Cape Town Symphony Orchestra while studying for an Orchestral Studies Diploma in 2002 - 2003. Both my mother and father were my first music teachers who took the time and effort to nurture this amazing gift of music in me. Today I am grateful that I have been blessed with an amazing skill which I can now offer to others wanting to learn the art of violin playing. My guidance under my father took me up to grade 6 violin. From there I then furthered my studies through the University of Cape Town to obtain a performance diploma in Orchestral Studies where I was under the tutelage of Professor Jürgen Schwietering, who was a previous Concert Master of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and a Graduate of The Juilliard School in New York. I also took lessons with Prof Farida Bacharova during my studies at UCT who is Associate Professor, Head of strings at UCT. With 4 years of private teaching experience in violin and music theory and more than 20 years of violin playing, it has helped me immensely to develop my ability to bring across everything I have learnt through method and application, and while I continue to teach the subject of music I work towards an ATCL diploma in violin performance/teaching and an ATCL diploma in music theory via Trinity College London. I teacher Violin up to Grade 8 and Music Theory up to grade 6 using the Trinity College London Syllabus. Check out my Youtube page at: The Violin Room. I also write music for short films, TV adverts and games.
