I am currently enrolled as a Masters candidate in the Sociology Department at Rhodes University. I specialize in Industrial and Economic Sociology. I intend to submit my Master’s Thesis this year titled: The dark side of emotional labour of SAPS in Estcourt KwaZulu Natal. My journey so far has revolved mainly around student leadership at Rhodes University. I first served as the Sports and transformation rep in the year 2017/18. I went on to serve as a Student Representative Council member (SRC) in 2016, my title was Allan Webb Hall SRC Representative. In that same year, I was co-ordinator of the Allan Webb Hall mentorship programme. In 2019 I was appointed as a tutor in the sociology department, the main purpose of this job was to help students develop study skills and organization techniques to help them improve their academic performance. To provide academic support and assisting students in gaining proficiency in the subject area. To review content and course material. In the same year I was also voted in as the Deputy speaker of the student parliament of Rhodes University, in Addition to being the Transformation councellor for the Black Management Forum student chapter for Rhodes university. I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant in the Sociology Department at Rhodes University. this job comprises of the preparation and facilitation for Industrial and Economic Sociology 2 classes and the assessment and evaluation of courses for Industrial and Economic Sociology 2.
