I am a diverse experienced manager that has worked in a range of different sectors including retail, hospitality, technical installations, entertainment technology and marketing. My experience stems from over 20 years of work coupled with my drive to always continue to learn and grow. I have a B.Dram degree from Stellenbosch University as well as a Diploma in business management from the university from South Africa (UNISA). I am currently still registered for my Postgraduate degree in Marketing Management from Unisa. My peers and friends describe me a as a driven, hardworking and motivational professional who always looks for opportunities to develop and mentor the staff that work under me. I have a very customer centric approach to how I run my teams and believe that the Customer’s trust is pivotal to any success in the business. I consider the business that I work for as my own business and manage it accordingly by taking ownership of the operational as well as sales functions and I constantly challenge my staff to find innovative and creative ways to improve on our results. Through my experience working in different companies I have adopted an emotional intelligent approach to managing staff realising that all people are individuals and that you can’t get results from staff by applying the same strategy to all of them. Just as people are unique you need to find unique ways of communicating/applying soft skills in order to get your staff’s buy in on aligning themselves with the company’s culture, deliverables and directives. I am foremost a manager but can also stand my ground in any level of the company as I have worked in several levels myself ranging from operations, administration, sales, health & safety and HR. I am always willing to roll up my sleeves and get involved and lead by example.
