I'm extremely hard working and passionate about winemaking. I have been in the industry for around 11 years and have worked my way up from Assistant Winemaker to Director - Winemaker. I love all aspects of winemaking and over the last couple of years have been grown to enjoy viticulture more too. Currently I'm responsible for the running of the Estate of my current employer and my duties include, but are not limited to: Managing all staff (16 people in total between the vineyard, cellar, office and tasting room) Management of all vineyard activities (spraying, pruning, harvesting, disease control and monitoring) Planning and overseeing the planting of new vineyards (soil analysis and preparation, irrigation systems, cultivar selection etc.) Management of all winemaking activities (harvesting estate grapes but also sourcing high-quality grapes when needed, barrel procurement, chemical management, blending, bottling, labeling, packaging etc.). I love to be hands-on in all aspects of the winemaking process Marketing the wines at trade shows across Southern Africa Growing the company's international footprint by signing on new importers in various countries, and building on relationships in existing markets to promote further growth of the brand Overseeing the building of new guest accommodation on the estate as well as assisting with the design of a new cellar I would love to join a company with whom I can build a long term relationship with.
