Hi my name is Katlego (KG.) I am a Masters in Financial Management candidate at the University of Cape Town. I am a hardworking, driven individual with a friendly disposition and I am interested in rejoining the workforce. I have worked in the financial services industry for almost 5 years, having started my career on the graduate program at Old Mutual Investment Group in Pinelands, Cape Town. I then moved to Johannesburg in search of other opportunities and did contract work at Rand Merchant Bank for a period of 4 months. Of the 3 contractors, I was the only individual invited to join the winter internship program at Rand Merchant Bank. Upon completion of the internship, I looked for immediate employment which resulted in me joining Standard Chartered Bank’s Africa Regional Office initially as an intern which led to a permanent offer a year later. I have a keen interest in financial concepts and possess skills in MS Office, Bloomberg and INet/IRESS to name a few. I work well in a team environment or independently, having worked with different personalities who have diverse cultural backgrounds. I am humble, always willing to learn and can adapt quickly to any environment and I am looking to combine my skills to add value to any organization. I am happy to start at any level and work my way up. I have the following qualifications and volunteer experience: • M.Com. with a specialization in Financial Management at UCT (coursework and thesis completed, i.e. I have received a preliminary mark for my thesis and completed all requested amendments.) • B.Com. Finance and B.Com. (Honours) Investment Management at the University of Johannesburg. • Member of the Consulting Club & Investment Society at UCT (2016.) • Academic mentor to 1st years at Oppierif’s Men’s Residence: UJ (2008 and 2009.) • Non-executive Director: University of Johannesburg Investment Society (2012.)
